The Pittsburgh Steelers are in their eighty-eighth season, playing their home games at Heinz Field, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 2001. The Steelers are led by head coach Mike Tomlin since 2007.

In 1992, head coach Bill Cowher won Coach of the Year after leading the team to a 11-5-0 record.

During their careers, multiple players have won awards for the team: Joe Greene won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1972 and 1974 and the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1969; Rod Woodson won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1993; Terry Bradshaw won the Most Valuable Player in 1978; Tommy Maddox won the Comeback Player of the Year in 2002; Jerome Bettis won the Comeback Player of the Year in 1996; John Stallworth won the Comeback Player of the Year in 1984; Franco Harris won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1972; Kendrell Bell won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2001; Jack Lambert won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1976 and the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1974; Ben Roethlisberger won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2004; Louis Lipps won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1984; Troy Polamalu won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2010; James Harrison won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2008; Mel Blount won the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 1975.

The Steelers have won six Super Bowls in their history, most recently in 2008.
