Career Summary
Jim Haslett was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1993 to 2021, finishing his career as the inside linebackers coach of the Tennessee Titans. Over his twenty-six years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 181-235-1. He was the head coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2000 until the 2005 season, during which time the Saints went 45-51-0. During his career he was a head coach for six seasons. He was fired from the Saints on Monday, January 2, 2006.
Career Awards
Haslett won the NFL's Coach of the Year award in 2000 after guiding the Saints to a 10-6-0 record and a a berth in the playoffs. During the 2000 season as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints he coached Joe Johnson to the Comeback Player of the Year.

Before he was a head coach, Haslett served as an assistant coach for Art Shell, Jim E. Mora (Sr.), Bill Cowher, Scott Linehan, Mike Shanahan, Jay Gruden, Marvin Lewis, and Mike Vrabel. Four of these years were spent on Shanahan's coaching staff. During his time as head coach, two assistant coaches, (Mike McCarthy and Ben McAdoo) on his coaching staff were hired as head coaches across the league. His coaching tree has combined for a record of 183-120-2 in the regular season and 11-12 in the playoffs during their twenty seasons as head coach after serving on his coaching staffs. The coaching tree has won a single championship, in 2010 by the Green Bay Packers, led by Mike McCarthy.
