Biography

Walt Kiesling was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1937 to 1961, finishing his career as the assistant coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Over his twenty-five years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 113-164-11. He was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1939 until the 1956 season, during which time the Pirates went 24-51-4. During his career he was a head coach for seven seasons.
