Biography

Walt Kiesling was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1939 until 1961, finishing his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers as their assistant coach. Over his twenty-two years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 108-139-11. During his career he was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1939 until the 1956 season. The Pirates went 24-51-4 during their seven seasons with Kiesling as head coach.
