Biography

Herman Ball was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1944 until 1968, finishing his career with the Philadelphia Eagles as their offensive coach. Over his sixteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 84-110-5. During his career he was the head coach of the Washington Redskins from 1949 until the 1951 season. The Redskins went 12-23-1 during their three seasons with Ball as head coach.
