The Pittsburgh Steelers' thirty-third season was in 1966, playing their home games at Pitt Stadium. During the offseason they hired Bill Austin to lead the team. Austin previously was the line coach of the Los Angeles Rams and had seven years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 5-8-1, 3-3-1 at home and 2-5-0 on the road.
