2008 was the seventy-fifth season for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the first season for Mike Tomlin as the head coach of the Steelers. They finished the season 12-4-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 for the team's sixth championship. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Santonio Holmes, Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and James Harrison, AP Defensive Player of the Year.
