Biography

Joe Kuharich was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1946 until 1968, finishing his career with the Philadelphia Eagles as their head coach. Over his twelve years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 63-86-4. During his career he was a head coach for eleven seasons. His first head coaching opportunity came with the Chicago Cardinals. He led the team for one season, compiling a record of 4-8-0. His next head coaching stint came with the Washington Redskins. He coached the Redskins from 1954 to 1958, leading the team to a 26-32-2 record during his five seasons as head coach. His third opportunity as head coach began in 1964 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He coached them for five seasons and the team had a 28-41-1 record during his tenure with the team.
