Arizona Cardinals History

The Arizona Cardinals are in their one hundred and third season, playing their home games at State Farm Stadium, in Phoenix, Arizona since 2006. The Cardinals are led by head coach Jonathan Gannon since 2023.

The Cardinals have won two championships in their history, most recently in 1947.

During their existence, they have had two people win Coach of the Year: Don Coryell, (1974); Bruce Arians, (2014).

During their careers, multiple players have won awards for the team: Garrison Hearst won the Comeback Player of the Year in 1995; Ottis Anderson won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1979; Anquan Boldin won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2003; Simeon Rice won the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1996; Kyler Murray won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2019.

Arizona Cardinals by the Decades

1920s

The Arizona Cardinals' inaugural season was 1920 as the Racine/Chicago Cardinals. During the decade, the Cardinals had a record of 56-42-9 during the regular season and not a single game in the playoffs. They played their home games at Normal Park (1920-1921), Comiskey Park (1922-1925), Normal Park (1926-1928), and Comiskey Park (1929). They won zero division titles. They won one league championship in 1925. In 1922, the Cardinals moved from Racine/Chicago, Illinois to Chicago, Illinois and changed their name from the Racine/Chicago Cardinals to Chicago Cardinals.

1930s

1940s
