The Chicago Cardinals' thirty-eighth season was in 1958, playing their home games at Comiskey Park. During the offseason they hired Pop Ivy to lead the team. Ivy had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1958 season. They finished the season 2-9-1, 1-4-1 at home and 1-5-0 on the road.
