Career Summary
Vince Tobin was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1986 to 2004, finishing his career as the special assistant coach of the Green Bay Packers. Over his sixteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 128-127-0. He was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 1996 until the 2000 season, during which time the Cardinals went 29-51-0. During his career he was a head coach for five seasons. He was fired from the Cardinals on Monday, October 23, 2000.
Career Awards
During his time as defensive coordinator and head coach he coached three players to award-winning seasons. As the defensive coordinator for the Bears Mike Singletary won AP Defensive Player of the Year and Mark Carrier won AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. As the head coach for the Cardinals Simeon Rice won AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
