The St. Louis Cardinals' sixtieth season was in 1980, playing their home games at Busch Stadium (II). During the offseason they hired Jim Hanifan to lead the team. Hanifan previously was the assistant head coach/offensive line coach of the San Diego Chargers and had seven years of coaching experience in the NFL.
