Career Summary

Dave McGinnis was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1986 to 2016, finishing his career as the assistant head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. Over his thirty-one years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 234-260-1. He was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2001 until the 2003 season, during which time the Cardinals went 16-32-0. During his career he was a head coach for three seasons. He was fired from the Cardinals on Monday, December 29, 2003.

Career Awards

During his time as defensive coordinator and head coach he coached two players to award-winning seasons. As the defensive coordinator for the Cardinals Simeon Rice won AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. As the head coach for the Cardinals Anquan Boldin won AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
