Biography

Rod Dowhower was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1973 to 2001, finishing his career as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. Over his twenty-one years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 153-170-3. He was the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 1985 until the 1986 season, during which time the Colts went 8-24-0. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons.

During the 1985 season as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts he coached Duane Bickett to the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
