Biography
Career Summary
Bob Hollway was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1967 to 1986, finishing his career as the special assistant/football operations of the Minnesota Vikings. Over his twenty years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 131-153-7. He was the head coach of the St. Louis Cardinals from 1971 until the 1972 season, during which time the Cardinals went 8-18-2. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons.

Before he was a head coach, Hollway served as an assistant coach for Bud Grant, Don McCafferty, Rick Forzano, Dick Nolan, Jack Patera, Les Steckel, and Jerry Burns. Eleven of these years were spent on Grant's coaching staff. One assistant coach from his coaching staffs, Leeman Bennett, was eventually hired as a head coach. After coaching on Bob Hollway's coaching staff, he was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for eight seasons where he combined for a regular season record of 50-69-0 and 1-3 in the playoffs.

Hollway was born on Friday, January 29, 1926 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He died on Saturday, March 13, 1999 at the age of 73.
