The St. Louis Cardinals' sixty-sixth season was in 1986, playing their home games at Busch Stadium (II). During the offseason they hired Gene Stallings to lead the team. Stallings previously was the defensive backfield coach of the Dallas Cowboys and had fourteen years of coaching experience in the NFL.
