The Detroit Lions' forty-fifth season was in 1974, playing their home games at Tiger Stadium. During the offseason they promoted Rick Forzano to lead the team. Forzano previously was the offensive backfield coach of the Detroit Lions and had four years of coaching experience in the AFL and NFL.
