The Minnesota Vikings' ninth season was in 1969, and it was the third season Bud Grant served as the head coach of the team. The Vikings played their home games at Metropolitan Stadium. They finished the year 12-2-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the Central, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-7. At the end of the season, Bud Grant was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
