The Atlanta Falcons' twelfth season was in 1977, playing their home games at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. During the offseason they hired Leeman Bennett to lead the team. Bennett previously was the wide receivers coach of the Los Angeles Rams and had seven years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 7-7-0, 4-3-0 at home and 3-4-0 on the road.
