The New Orleans Saints' forty-third season was in 2009, and it was the fourth season Sean Payton served as the head coach of the team. The Saints played their home games at Louisiana Superdome. They finished the year 13-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC South, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Indianapolis Colts 31-17, the team's first championship win. At the end of the season, Drew Brees was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
