2009 was the forty-second season for the Cincinnati Bengals and the sixth season for Marvin Lewis as the head coach of the Bengals. They finished the season 10-6-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the New York Jets 24-14. At the conclusion of the season Marvin Lewis was awarded with the Coach of the Year.
