2005 was the forty-sixth season for the New England Patriots and the fifth season for Bill Belichick as the head coach of the Patriots. They finished the season 10-6-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the Denver Broncos 27-13. At the conclusion of the season Tedy Bruschi was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year.
