2005 was the thirtieth season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the third season for Jon Gruden as the head coach of the Buccaneers. They finished the season 11-5-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the Washington Redskins 17-10. At the conclusion of the season Cadillac Williams was awarded with the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
