2011 was the eighty-second season for the Detroit Lions and the second season for Jim Schwartz as the head coach of the Lions. They finished the season 10-6-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the New Orleans Saints 45-28. At the end of the season Matthew Stafford was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
