2011 was the eighty-second season for the Detroit Lions and the second season for Jim Schwartz as the head coach of the Lions. They finished the season 10-6-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the New Orleans Saints 45-28. At the conclusion of the season Matthew Stafford was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year.
