Career Summary
Jim Schwartz is a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) and has been the defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns since 2023. During this time period, the Browns compiled a 14-16-0 record. He was the head coach of the Detroit Lions from 2009 until the 2013 season, during which time the Lions went 29-51-0. During his career he was a head coach for five seasons. He was fired from the Lions on Monday, December 30, 2013. Schwartz was fired from the Lions despite starting the season 6-3, but finishing the season 1-4 to miss the playoffs.
Career Awards
As the head coach of the Detroit Lions he coached two players to award-winning seasons: Ndamukong Suh, AP Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2010; Matthew Stafford, Comeback Player of the Year in 2011.
