2011 was the fifty-second season for the Denver Broncos. During the offseason they hired John Fox to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for nine years. They finished the season 8-8-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the New England Patriots 45-10. At the conclusion of the season Von Miller was awarded with the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
