The San Francisco 49ers' sixty-sixth season was in 2011, playing their home games at Candlestick Park. During the offseason they hired Jim Harbaugh to lead the team. Harbaugh previously was the quarterbacks coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2003 and has a total of two years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the year 13-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC West, and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the New York Giants 20-17. At the end of the season, Jim Harbaugh was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
