Biography

Career Summary

Mike Singletary was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 2003 to 2013, finishing his career as the linebackers coach/special assistant to the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Over his eleven years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 74-101-1. He was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers from 2009 until the 2010 season, during which time the 49ers went 14-18-0. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons. He was fired from the 49ers.

Singletary was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998 after his playing career.

Before he was a head coach, Singletary served as an assistant coach for Brian Billick, Mike Nolan, and Leslie Frazier. Four of these years were spent on Nolan's coaching staff.
