Career Summary
Marty Mornhinweg was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1995 to 2020, finishing his career as the senior offensive consultant of the Philadelphia Eagles. Over his twenty-five years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 203-195-2. He was the head coach of the Detroit Lions from 2001 until the 2002 season, during which time the Lions went 5-27-0. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons. He was fired from the Lions on Monday, January 27, 2003. He was fired about a month after the season ended and after general manager Matt Millen had annouced that Mornhinweg was returning for another season.
Career Awards
During the 2010 season as the offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles he coached Michael Vick to the Comeback Player of the Year.
