The Houston Oilers' thirty-seventh season was in 1996, and it was the third season Jeff Fisher served as the head coach of the team. The Oilers played their home games at Reliant Astrodome. They finished the season 8-8-0, 2-6-0 at home and 6-2-0 on the road. At the end of the season, Eddie George was awarded with the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
