The Carolina Panthers' second season was in 1996, and it was the first season Dom Capers served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Green Bay Packers 30-13. At the end of the season, Dom Capers was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
