The Carolina Panthers' second season was in 1996, and it was the second season Dom Capers served as the head coach of the team. The Panthers played their home games at Ericsson Stadium. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC West, and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Green Bay Packers 30-13. At the end of the season, Dom Capers was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
