The Houston Oilers' thirty-first season was in 1990, playing their home games at Reliant Astrodome. During the offseason they hired Jack Pardee to lead the team. Pardee brought six years of experience as a head coach. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Cincinnati Bengals 41-14. At the end of the season, Warren Moon was awarded with the AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
