2001 was the sixty-sixth season for the St. Louis Rams and the first season for Mike Martz as the head coach of the Rams. They finished the season 14-2-0 in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the New England Patriots 20-17. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Kurt Warner, Most Valuable Player and Marshall Faulk, AP Offensive Player of the Year.
