They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the St. Louis Rams 20-17, the team's first championship win. At the end of the season, Tom Brady was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
