Biography

Dave Wannstedt was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1989 until 2013, finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their special teams coordinator. Over his nineteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 142-162-0. During his career he was a head coach for eleven seasons. His first head coaching opportunity came with the Chicago Bears. He led the team for six seasons, compiling a record of 40-56-0. His next head coaching stint came with the Miami Dolphins. He coached the Dolphins from 2000 to 2004, leading the team to a 45-35-0 record during his five seasons as head coach.
