Biography

Jim Lee Howell was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1954 until 1986, finishing his career with the New York Giants as their consultant/special scout. Over his fourteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 106-78-5. During his career he was the head coach of the New York Giants from 1954 until the 1960 season. The Giants went 53-27-4 during their seven seasons with Howell as head coach. Throughout Howell's coaching career his teams led the league in victories during the 1959 season.
