The New York Giants' thirtieth season was in 1954, playing their home games at Polo Grounds. During the offseason they hired Jim Lee Howell to lead the team. Howell had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1954 season. They finished the season 7-5-0, 4-2-0 at home and 3-3-0 on the road.
