The Chicago Bears' thirty-seventh season was in 1956, playing their home games at Wrigley Field. During the offseason they promoted Paddy Driscoll to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for three years. They finished the regular season 9-2-1 and continued to the postseason. They faced the New York Giants in the playoffs and lost 47-7.
