The New York Giants' thirty-eighth season was in 1962, and it was the first season Allie Sherman served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 12-2-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Green Bay Packers 16-7. At the end of the season, Allie Sherman was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
