1990 was the thirty-first season for the Dallas Cowboys and the first season for Jimmy Johnson as the head coach of the Cowboys. They finished the season 7-9-0, 5-3-0 at home and 2-6-0 on the road. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Jimmy Johnson, Coach of the Year and Emmitt Smith, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
