2010 was the fifty-first season for the New England Patriots and the tenth season for Bill Belichick as the head coach of the Patriots. They finished the season 14-2-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the New York Jets 28-21. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Bill Belichick, Coach of the Year and Tom Brady, AP Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
