Career Summary
Frank Gansz was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1978 to 2001, finishing his career as the special teams coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Over his twenty-two years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 145-197-2. He was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs from 1987 until the 1988 season, during which time the Chiefs went 8-22-1. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons.

Before he was a head coach, Gansz served as an assistant coach for Pete McCulley, Homer Rice, Forrest Gregg, Marv Levy, Marion Campbell, John Mackovic, Wayne Fontes, June Jones, Dick Vermeil, and Tom Coughlin. Five of these years were spent on Fontes' coaching staff. One assistant coach from his coaching staffs, Rod Rust, was eventually hired as a head coach. After coaching on Frank Gansz's coaching staff, he was the head coach of the New England Patriots for one season where he combined for a regular season record of 1-15-0 and 0-0 in the playoffs.

Gansz was born on Tuesday, November 22, 1938 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He died on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the age of 70.
