The Detroit Lions' sixty-second season was in 1991, and it was the third season Wayne Fontes served as the head coach of the team. The Lions played their home games at Pontiac Silverdome. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC Central, and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Washington Redskins 41-10. At the end of the season, Wayne Fontes was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
