1996 was the seventy-sixth season for the Green Bay Packers and the fourth season for Mike Holmgren as the head coach of the Packers. They finished the season 13-3-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the New England Patriots 35-21 for the team's tenth championship. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Brett Favre, Most Valuable Player and Desmond Howard, Super Bowl Most Valuable Player.
