The Green Bay Packers' seventy-sixth season was in 1996, and it was the fifth season Mike Holmgren served as the head coach of the team. The Packers played their home games at Lambeau Field. They finished the year 13-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC Central, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the New England Patriots 35-21, the team's twelfth championship win. At the end of the season, Desmond Howard was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
