1996 was the twenty-first season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During the offseason they hired Tony Dungy to lead the team. Dungy previously was the defensive backs coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1991 and has a total of eleven years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 6-10-0, 5-3-0 at home and 1-7-0 on the road.
