The Cincinnati Bengals' twenty-first season was in 1988, and it was the fifth season Sam Wyche served as the head coach of the team. The Bengals played their home games at Riverfront Stadium. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC Central, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the San Francisco 49ers 20-16.
