The San Francisco 49ers' forty-third season was in 1988, and it was the tenth season Bill Walsh served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Cincinnati Bengals 20-16, the team's third championship win. At the end of the season Jerry Rice earned Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and Roger Craig earned AP Offensive Player of the Year.
