The Minnesota Vikings' eleventh season was in 1971, and it was the fifth season Bud Grant served as the head coach of the team. The Vikings played their home games at Metropolitan Stadium. They finished the year 11-3-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC Central, but they lost their first playoff game to the Dallas Cowboys 20-12. At the end of the season, Alan Page was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
