The Oakland Raiders' forty-seventh season was in 2006, playing their home games at McAfee Coliseum. During the offseason they hired Art Shell to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for five years. He was fired from the Raiders on Friday, January 5, 2007. They finished the season 2-14-0, 2-6-0 at home and 0-8-0 on the road.
