2006 was the forty-seventh season for the Kansas City Chiefs. During the offseason they hired Herman Edwards to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for five years. They finished the season 9-7-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the Indianapolis Colts 23-8.
