The Houston Oilers' thirtieth season was in 1989, and it was the fifth season Jerry Glanville served as the head coach of the team. The Oilers played their home games at Reliant Astrodome. He was fired from the Oilers on Saturday, January 6, 1990. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-23. At the end of the season, Warren Moon was awarded with the Man of the Year award.
